Border: Hungary-Slovenia
We drove through Hungary to Slovenia that day. I wanted to cross the border at Prosenjakovci to get to Sredisce. I knew that the border Prosenjakovci-Magyarsombatfa is only small and I figured that it wouldn't be open at night. But it was only about 17:30h and I expected the border to be open till about 20:00h. An empty, dark road lead us from Hodos about 7kms to the border-crossing at Magyarszombatfa. When we finally got to the border-crossing, we found it completely empty, the gates locked and nobody there.
This is the moment when Oskar spoke his legendary words 'Slowenien ist nicht zu Hause'. ('Slovenia is not at home.')
We had to drive back to Hodos, cross the border there and drive back to Sredisce, which is just on the other side of the gate on this photo.
Later on I found out that this border closes at 16:00h in the afternoon.
